Our Story
OCTOBER 2020
Taylor and Bryce met when they were both 18 years old during their freshman year at Texas State University. It was October 2020, in the middle of a college year unlike any other, and they both happened to be living at Bobcat Village.
Their story began at Bryce’s birthday party. He was holding Jell-O shots, Taylor wanted one, and the two found themselves talking afterward. It was an ordinary college night that neither could have known would become such an important one.
They didn’t begin dating right away. Instead, the months that followed were filled with on-and-off flirting and plenty of reasons to find themselves in the same place at the same time.
As luck would have it, they were also in the same English class. Both began arriving a little earlier than necessary, each hoping to “accidentally” run into the other before class.
Neither ever admitted what they were doing.
The First Date
Seven months after they first met, Bryce finally asked Taylor on an official date.
The evening began with drinks at the Four Seasons Hotel Austin before dinner at Qi. After months of flirting, both were far more nervous than they expected to be. Somewhere between drinks at the Four Seasons and dinner that evening, the nerves began to disappear.
They started dating that May.
Neither could have known that more than five years later, they would return to the very place where their first date began to exchange their wedding vows.
Growing Up Together
Taylor and Bryce met at an age when so much of life was still ahead of them. Over the next several years, they experienced much of it side by side.
They spent their college years together at Texas State, surrounded by the friendships and memories that made San Marcos such an important part of their story. They watched one another grow, celebrated milestones together, graduated, began careers, and eventually traded college life for a home of their own in Georgetown.
Their relationship grew up with them.
And somewhere along the way, what began as two 18-year-olds finding excuses to see each other became a life neither could imagine without the other.
And Then There Were Four
Their home in Georgetown wouldn’t be complete without Stryder and Coco.
They adopted Stryder first, beginning what would quickly become a very dog-centered household.
Coco’s arrival was a little less planned.
After a girls’ trip with Bryce’s family, Taylor decided to come home with a surprise. She tucked a tiny Coco into a Taco Bell bag and presented it to Bryce, who had no idea he was about to meet the newest member of their family. Today, some of Taylor and Bryce’s favorite nights are also their simplest: at home together, Stryder and Coco nearby, with a rom-com or reality show on television.
For two people who love going somewhere new, they’ve become equally fond of having nowhere to go at all.
A Life of Adventures
Travel has become one of the things Taylor and Bryce love most.
Together, they’ve explored new places, made memories around the world, and discovered that some of the best moments are the ones that could never make it onto an itinerary.
One of their favorites happened in Italy, when they found themselves dancing together in the rain—a small, spontaneous moment that became an unforgettable memory.
Their years together have been filled with moments like these: some carefully planned, others completely unexpected, and many that seemed ordinary at the time but became favorites in retrospect.
The Easiest Yes
In February 2025, Taylor and Bryce traveled to Vail, Colorado, for what Taylor believed was simply a family trip.
Bryce had other plans.
It snowed heavily for nearly their entire stay. But on February 16, the weather seemed to cooperate for just a few hours.
Bryce brought Taylor outside into the snow and asked her to marry him.
In a detail that perfectly captured the two of them, Taylor was standing in the snow in heels while Bryce had sensibly worn boots.
She said yes.
But Bryce had one more surprise waiting.
When they walked into the hotel restaurant afterward, Taylor found both of their families there to celebrate. Bryce had quietly arranged for her family to make the trip to Vail so they could all share in the moment.
What began as a family celebration soon grew. Before the night was over, practically the entire bar was raising a glass and joining them for celebratory shots.
From Jell-O shots at a college birthday party to champagne in Vail, somehow their story had come full circle.
